ABOUT SENETT SMITH

Senett has been making art since they could first hold a crayon, and has never stopped creating since. Though their degree is in science, art courses in college helped them grow as an artist, and they’ve continued to experiment with traditional media and printmaking ever since. Inspired by their fascination with beetles, Senett blends sewing and textile work into their practice. Using the same sewing machine their mother taught them on as a child, they craft intricate insect-inspired pieces. They continue to self-educate as an amateur entomologist and beetle enthusiast, with each new thing they learn pushing Senett to explore the natural world through their art.
